from curator Julie Alexander: ‘Snag's first show of our season is opening this Saturday April 4th from 1:00 to 5:00. It is a 2 person show with the amazing weaver Allyce Wood who many of you know. This show features current work using various re-homed fibers and inherited wool with inlays that read as flowing gestures. I'm very excited to see her new work with her intuitive approach to weaving.

This show also includes paintings by Ellen Picken from Spokane. She recently had a wonderful show at Lowell Ryan Projects, Los Angeles. Ellen's paintings explore the language of deep spiritual abstraction. Each painting is made of shells, bones, ash, pine sap, beeswax, rocks and rust. "In seeking material, asking, hand grinding, waiting, mixing, and painting I become the place I live."

Both artists are experimental in their processes and in pigments. Both artist explore their body in place and time.’
